Bible School Graduation Time in Guatemala

Written by Carol Ruano
Bible Institute Director - Guatemala

Our Bible Institute Graduation on Saturday, Nov 14th, was a glorious celebration of what the Lord, through His Word and Spirit, has done in the lives of our 584 graduates from the different programs of study on the Central campus and in the 57 extension schools throughout Guatemala. We saw a passion in their lives to be effective laborers trained to bring in and care for the harvest, thus fulfilling the desire of our precious Lord's heart. (Mt 9:35-38)

Most of our second level scholarship students that lived on Campus have gone, some for evangelistic outreaches in Mexico, some to help in their home church and others to different places that God has called them to. We miss them but are excited about how God will use them and fulfill His purpose for their lives. We greatly appreciate the people that have given for their scholarships. Many students would not have been able to study if it had not been for the scholarships.  If you or if you know anyone that would like to help us by giving for the 2016 scholarships of $250 per month per student or help financially towards part of it, please contact us. We would like to give 40 scholarships for 2016.

Operation Shoebox Mission Trip Update

We just had a team of 64 from the US that joined up with our Guatemala mission team for 10 days of life changing ministry.

We began at our home church in Quetzaltenango on Sunday morning, where we were able to bless about 600 children.  Throughout the next several days, we went to 19 different locations and gave shoeboxes to 9,966 children.

At each location, a drama using Batman, Superman, and Spiderman were used, wrapped around a special message focusing on Jesus, the one true super hero. Approximately 5,525 children, youth, and adults raised their hands and prayed, inviting Jesus into their hearts.  It was glorious!

We are still getting hundreds of boxes/toys ready for other upcoming outreaches. We will give a full report in the middle of January when all of the activities are done.   We also sent funds to Panama, Belize, and Haiti for Operation Shoebox and we will receive a report from them after their distributions have taken place.

The total shoeboxes given out so far including the church is 10,566.

To God be the glory!
